The Washington State Chapter of the VHPA will be marching in the 60th annual Auburn Veterans Day parade on Saturday, 8 November. All who can attend are encouraged to come and march with our Huey in the parade–rain or shine.
0930-1030 Chapter Meeting in the Holding Area
The rally point is the intersection of H Street SE and East Main in downtown Auburn (see the map). We will hold a formal meeting and form up adjacent to the restored UH-1H Huey provided and towed by the Olympic Flight Museum and assisted by VHPA-WA volunteers. We plan to take a group picture at this location.
Suggested March Attire
Black VHPA-WA Jackets and shirts. VHPA-WA caps or former military unit caps, khaki or tan trousers. We may not all be in uniform, but let’s look sharp and be proud of our service.
1100 Parade Commences
American flags will be available to all members for the march. Those unable to march may ride in the Huey or in the truck towing it. The parade is expected to end around 1300. We do NOT turn right at A st. We will park and repack the UH1 on Main just after A st.

Other Events
In addition to the parade, there are other events for vets that day that you may be interested in participating. Specific information about the parade and related events on this day and links to the parade map are available on the Auburn city’s website at www.auburnwa.gov/vets.
This event has become our chapter’s second annual membership meeting and our last opportunity in 2025 for us to get together, show the flag, remind the public of who we are, and what we’ve done, and, perhaps, plan additional membership gatherings. For the last two years we received awards from the parade organizers. We expect to continue the trend this year. For all of you “out of towners” on the East side of the mountains, this is an opportunity to plan a road trip, visit your buddies, and take in the sights and sounds of the “wet” side. So, bring your SPIRIT and, as our webmaster says, “…your cane, your walker, or just ride in the Huey”.
Clear and untied!…
