The Washington State chapter of the National Veteran Helicopter Pilots Association meets five times a year and participates in community events designed to promote a better understanding of Veteran’s issues and the role helicopter pilots paid during and after the Vietnam War.
We generally hold meetings in the Joint Base Lewis-McCord area and once a year in eastern Washington near Spokane. In association with the Olympic Flight Museum, we have restored and display a UH1 airframe in the Auburn Veteran’s Day Parade and at a number of community events throughout the year.
Current membership includes about fifty veterans from all services including US Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and other organizations.
