Greetings from your Chapter President, James A. LePenske, Jr.

This is the formal announcement of our third general membership meeting for 2017.

As you might have heard, we’re towing the Huey to Spokane for the first time as suggested and approved by the Executive Committee at our first general membership meeting in February 2017. To make this event happen, we overcame a ton of logistical and operational challenges—and more are to be met.

In Spokane, our Huey will be displayed with “The Moving Wall”, which only makes brief stops throughout the United States.  Accompanying the wall, a very large Helping Group will be on site twenty-four hours a day to assist in the healing of Veterans affected by PTSD and Agent Orange Exposure.

The Chapter meeting will be held at The Timber Creek Grill Buffet, 9211 E. Montgomery in Spokane on August 26, 2017, from 10:30 to 12:30 with “The All-You-can-Eat” food paid for by the Chapter.  The promises to be a lively one, with lots of discussion surrounding future events, Huey visits, guest speakers and information regarding our new website.  Please pull up details of the meeting from our fabulous new website rebuilt by our own webmaster, Bill Vaughn, and read the Next Meetings page.  The Moving Wall event will be taking place during our meeting, so come early so everyone will have a chance to participate in all the local activities and attend our meeting.

I realize a trip to Spokane is a bit far for some of our members, however, we have several members who would like to tell you about upcoming events to make the trip worthwhile. I expect you can find someone to share a ride with you there and back. Make this a family event by bringing the whole family.  Enjoy the cool local activities and meet some of our brothers on the other side of the mountains.

Our next events featuring the Huey will be at Pacific Beach on September 3, 2017, and Hoquiam on September 9, 2017. We finish our year with the Auburn Parade on November 11, 2017. See the “Next Meeting” page on the website for more details as they are finalized. I hope all of you can attend each of our meetings and as many special events as possible.

SPECIAL NOTE: We desperately need trucks and/or drivers to tow the Huey to our events.  Right now, Dave Saunders is the only one able to help us. Please step forward and give some time and the use of your rig for a good cause.

I pray all of you are well and as active as possible.  I look forward to seeing you soon, and until that time, take care.
